DESCRIPTION:We’re headed north on our semi-annual road trip to Jerome & Clarkdale Az. We play Friday night at the world-famous Spirit Room in Jerome Az. Friday is typically an 8-10 pm show at the Spirit Room in Jerome. It took us a few appearances\, but we informed the young lady that books the entertainment at the Spirit Room that our age group typically doesn’t attend an 8 pm show. Now\, I know everyone may not be at the “senior citizen” scheduling moment\, but it has been proven that we get a better crowd if we begin earlier! \n\n\n\nIf you’ve never been to the Spirit Room in Jerome\, put it on your bucket list! Better yet\, put this date/time on your calendar and make the trek with us to the Spirit Womb!

If you visit when they feature music\, which is every weekend and more\, you will most likely see a crowd of music and dance aficionados. People love their music and really enjoy dancing. DESCRIPTION:It’s time to return to Kearney and play the always fun Firehouse Saloon.  If you’ve never visited\, it may help to use your GPS or mapping app.  That being said\, the crowd at the Firehouse really appreciate their music and enjoy dancing and having a good time.  It’s the perfect venue for us! \n\n\n\nThere is a large outdoor area with a covered patio with a pass through for the bartender.  Just mosey up and order your cocktail or beer.  Heck\, maybe a shot!  This patio also serves as a stage for the musicians.  It’s always great having shade in May in Arizona!

DESCRIPTION:Every last Saturday of the month we have a standing gig at the Ore House in Oracle.  This unique bar is an old ranch house that was towed to the top of the hill\, back in the day.  It was actually built in Ray Arizona!  There are some nice touches at the Ore House with a lot of wood features\, a stone fireplace and old mining gear displayed here and there.  This time of year\, unless it’s raining\, we are playing outdoors.  Fortunately for all of us\, once that sun sets\, it doesn’t take long for the night air to cool that summer temperature.  Arrive early\, order yourself an appetizer and your favorite beverage and get ready to dance the night away the the Hold my Beer Band!

DESCRIPTION:The first leg of our Northern Arizona road-trip is the world-famous stage at the Spirit Room in Jerome Az. We’re just a four-piece band\, but the stage is not too deep but long. Anyway\, the reason we bring this lesser-known factoid is that most bands don’t know of the small extension that is built into the stage. It’s actually a brilliant idea and is housed in the front of the stage via a panel. Once pulled out on handy wheels\, you notice 10 threaded pipes with the underside of the extension housing the receptacles that the threaded pipes are screwed in to. Once that is done\, flip it over and you have an extension to enlarge the shallow depth of the stage. \nCome see us at the Spirit Room in Jerome! The local audience from Jerome and tourists all tend to agree that the Hold my Beer Band enjoys playing tunes you may have not heard in a while! Interested? Make plans now!

DESCRIPTION:This is the 24th annual auction event held at The Player’s Pub in Catalina.  Every December in conjunction with the Golder Ranch Fire Department and the Catalina Crusaders. There will be many auction items to look over as we play some tunes and get you ready to spend some money in order to purchase toys for the kids. You are encouraged to drop by The Player’s Pub in Catalina and drop some dollars in their giant donation jug. Or\, if you’ve got something to donate to the auction for the cause\, that is welcomed as well! \nThere is a cash raffle for $1\,000 with tickets going for $10 ea. or 3 for $25!  Please bring an unwrapped toy as an entry fee.  There is catered food from 2 to 5 being offered at $12/plate. \nWe are the first item up for auction so you can ensure your money goes to a great cause\, purchasing toys for children this holiday season.  Drop by\, make sure that you take a look at all of the auction items then get ready for the auction\, beginning as soon as we clear the patio area for the auctioneer and Golder Ranch Fire personnel.  They will display the current item up for auction and at times will wear the item\, if they can fit! \nJoin us.  It’s going to be a blast!

DESCRIPTION:Our bass/keyboard player\, Ron spent his recent birthday in Bisbee Az. After 40 years of living in Arizona\, it was about time to visit this historic landmark. Especially considering Ron & his girlfriend Carla spent almost 17 years living in Jerome Arizona\, another historic mining town. Several bars were visited over a few days\, but this bar\, was very unique. Legend has it that one of the previous owners\, or a previous owner stipulated that nothing changed on the walls in this bar. If you take a close look at the wall by peeking past all of the items on the wall\, you may notice a yellow tinge. That’s got to be from decade upon decade of cigarette and cigar smoke are evident\, before Arizona went smoke free indoors. St. Elmo’s has been in this location since 1902 so there are plenty of unique and original items to look at. What interested Ron most is the adjoining room. Holy Crap! There’s a stage\, sound equipment already there and some dance floor! This seemed to be a great place as a potential gig opportunity for the Hold my Beer Band! It just so happened that a friendly employee or local\, not sure which\, was able to introduce me to Sue\, the owner of the bar. As soon as I gave Sue the pitch about the band she asked\, “What’s the name of your band”? As soon as she heard we named our band the Hold my Beer Band\, she replied\, “Oh Hell Yeah”! We exchanged phone numbers for the purpose of texting\, who really talks on phones these days\, and I figured I would hear from her in a week or so. Well\, she must have liked our Facebook presence or our website and offered us a date in a text. The boys enthusiastically agreed and we are beyond excited to be playing a gig in Historic Bisbee Arizona at St. Elmo’s. It is time to return home for “Rustic Roots and Cowboy Boots.”  The Copper Basin Chamber of Commerce and their partners are bringing back all of your favorite events. \nThe Chamber of Commerce began the festivities this year with a competition. They asked members of the community to submit their ideas for this year’s theme. The winning theme “Rustic Roots and Cowboy Boots” was submitted by Kearny resident Melissa Day. When asked about how she came up with the theme\, Melissa said\, “Being local\, I knew that our Pioneer Days is about our cowboy roots\, even though the holiday is celebrated in other states as a different tradition. Ours is more of a cowboy theme versus Pioneer\, so I thought of the play on words that way. Rustic Roots & Cowboy Boots. Couldn’t be truer for Kearny\, and it’s catchy!” \nWe agree that it’s the perfect theme to represent the Copper Basin Area. \nOther original events such as the Queens Competition\, Roping Tournament\, Softball Tournament and Parade are scheduled this year!
